THE MUTILATION MAN

Like an acid trip gone bad, "The
Mutilation Man" takes you on a dark venture into the mind of a disturbed young man
who's perception of reality is blurred by his bloody past. Terek Puckett (My Sweet Satan)
stars as the wondering side show freak, travelling a barren wasteland where he performs
self-mutilation shows in front of raving mad spectators who cheer him on. Using a knife,
cleaver and some skewers, the mutilation man really does a number on himself in
graphic detail. Extreme close-ups of his self inflicted wounds are mixed together with
flashback footage shot on super 8. Jim Van Bebber (Deadbeat at Dawn and My Sweet Satan)
plays the father who viciously abuses him as a child. At the same time, some very surreal
imagery of a nightmarish demon bitch sporting a metal claw (a la "Tetsuo")
is shown. The same chick also plays a goth fan who appears to him after one of the shows.
He tries to get intimate with her by putting his hand down her pants, but once again the
painful flashbacks of his past keep driving him insane. One more show is in store for
mutilation man, but this time he won't be the main attraction! While going through the
bloody motions, the fans decide to hold a show of their own, killing each other in a
frenzy of death and chaos! Now the mutilation man has found peace at last.......
The overall production is lacking at times, but the "low
budget" approach works well with this film, giving it a very brutal look. The super 8
footage is frighteningly realistic, and Van Beeber's portrayal of the fucked up father is
almost too real! Producer/director Andrew Copp has created a film that goes beyond the
usual low budget shot on video crap, and offers something that's original and mind bending
at the same time. Shot on 16mm in Dayton, Ohio, this is Andrew Copp's first full length
feature and hopefully not his last. To get your own copy of "THE MUTILATION
