Glenn Gould
1932 - 1982

Perhaps Canada's greatest musician. Equally as famous for his innovative adaptations as his eccentric character.

A child prodigy he was performing in his parents' Toronto home at five years of age.

After a brilliant and successful concert series, Glenn Gould retired from public performance and dedicated himself to recording.

Much of his later work was done with the Canadian Broadcasting Studio, who in 1992 named their name concert studio after him.

The grave of Glenn Gould is the most visited memorial. People continue to bring flowers and leave mementos.

The bar of music marks the opening notes to Bach's Goldberg Variations, the piece that made him famous.
