How We Met

It was a warm September night, four years ago. Jenn's friend Ken McRory invited her to attend "Tinka's New Dress", a puppet show he was going to see with Glen, his highschool buddy. Glen and Jenn first locked eyes by the conductor's booth at Dupont Subway Station.

After living it up on Yonge Street and at the piano bar Tom Jones (Click here to hear a sample of that evening's melodic memories) Glen and Jenn knew they had a special, albeit warped rapport.

On their trip back to York University where both Ken and Jenn lived, Jenn confided to Ken: "I like Glen. BUT HE'S SO BAD!!!" (This is Ken's version of events) But we all know how alluring bad boys are to good girls, so Jenn was unable to resist.

Jenn, Glen and Ken painted the town a few times. Our rhyming names proved hilarious to all. We enjoyed trashing the musical "Sunset Boulevard" (especially the turbans). We also met to see Ken sing "The Messiah" with the Mendelsohn Choir.

In honour of Ken's pivotal role in this scenario, we've asked him to share his feelings in song at our ceremony.

On their first date alone, Jenn brought over to Glen's infinitesimally small, six-sided apartment (aptly named "The Sexagon") an upside-down lemon cheesecake with shortbread crust. Upside-down because Jenn dropped it en route. To find out how effective cheesecake has been for Jenn read more here. The cheesecake was so sumptuous that Glen was instantly smitten.

Despite the kitchen hardships, Jenn made many a gourmet meal in the Sexagon (note the kitchen or lack thereof below, also note the bathroom wallpaper). After Jenny's yummy meals we'd enjoy watching classic movies together like "Valley of the Dolls". Despite the great times, Jenn was sure glad when Glen got his swanky Forest Hill pad.

The infamous Sexagon!
