POEMS

Our Love Grows
Like leaves of two trees
rustling,
mingling together
in the first soft
breeze of spring…
roots intertwining
trunks twisting
knotting into each other
So two separate souls unite
over the span of years…

Jenn's Poem to Glen

Since Glen's not a sentimental type
Who's impressed by the romantic hype
Of cupid and candy, roses and hearts
Or trite Hallmark cards with real gushy parts

Jenny decided to send a brief little note
To tell her dear Glenny how much she does dote
It speaks of Glen and Jenn in a manner quite terse
While rhyming in quatrains like old-fashioned verse

Glen and Jenn interact in their own unique way
As they yack on the phone at least half of the day
No topic's taboo as they philosophize
On Barbie, spelunking and old Nazi spies

Jenny's life has been broadened thanks be to Glen
From Taco Bell to Vegas to the Winter Garden
Glen takes Jenny on adventures galore
With chimps and raccoons, her life's never a bore

When Glen and Jenn get together, they cook up a storm
Making gourmet delights in fabulous form
Then they sit and relax with Tabby the cat
Who is furry and warm and real nice to pat

Now it is time come to a close
We must make it short so our reader won't doze
Just a few final words: This card is Jenn's way
Of saying "I Love You" each and every day!

Jenn gives her heart to Glen

Jenn hand painted this card for Glen
for their first Valentine's Day together.
Two Valentine's Days later,
Jenn found the way to Glen's heart
that made him propose on the spot.

Glen's Poem to Jenn

You are the batteries
In my flashlight
Charging me up to
Light up the night.

You are the burner
Under my frying pan
Sautéed to perfection
Because of my woman.

We get along like
Finnegan and Casey.
I'm sassy Cagney
To your down-to-earth Lacey

You are the corkscrew
Of my bottle of wine,
Opening me up
So I can be truly fine!

Though I'm not Ward
To your June Cleaver,
More true to the fact,
I'm rather the Beaver.

I like to complain
To my Dear Abby
Without your kind ear
I'd be perpetually crabby!

You are the half
Of my heart
More true, more perfect
Than the original part.

Jenn is June Cleaver!
"Ward I'm worried about the Beaver!!!"

Jenn's Poem
I sit silent
Waiting
Don't want to move
Life feels perfect
Sunshine lights the room
Occupied now only by
me and sleepy
cat curled up
beside me
We wait for him
The him who's made
his home - ours.
