The Canadian Rig

Petrolia men introduced the rest of the world to the Canadian Rig. It has four poles and was easily mounted on skids and drawn by horses to drilling sites. However, it was so tall that early telephone lines around Petrolia were built over 12 metres high at intersections to allow the rigs to pass through. The Canadian Rig was easily constructed by a crew within a few days.
