About the
Horizon Interfaith Council
The Horizon
Interfaith Council is a non-profit volunteer organisation that
is composed of representatives from various religions and faith
groups around the Greater Toronto Area. For 23 years we have
produced television programs about our member faith groups,
as well as special programs of an interfaith nature, and aired
them on Rogers Community Television. The generosity and assistance
of Rogers has been a major factor in making our success
possible.
` Our overall purpose is to encourage and co-ordinate the use of
communication media, especially those electronic in nature, by
religious groups in Metro Toronto and beyond. Our aim is to share
with viewers the beliefs and traditions of our diverse religious
community, to emphasise values in life as addressed by religious
beliefs, and promote harmony and understanding of our
multi-cultural, multi-faith and multi-racial community in our
interfaith programming.
In the new millennium we are very excited to be expanding our
presence to the Internet with the development of a Website. This
will enable us to offer our viewers more information about
Horizon, our member faith groups and airing programs, as well as to
provide a preview of upcoming programs to our viewers.
