Open House Annual Potluck Banquet
Thursday, 14 June 2001
Operation Victory Church
Keynote Speaker:
This year is a special Reunion Banquet. We're inviting the 80+
faith groups that have sat on the Horizon Council since 1978.
And who better to speak for us than Horizon's first Chairman!
The Reverend Canon A. Paul Feheley and Horizon both began their
ministries 23 years ago, with Paul as Horizon’s first Chairman.
Since then he has chaired and served on many Anglican committees
involving the use of modern media and communications. Deeply committed
to imparting his faith, he has served in many different rural,
suburban and inner-city parishes, as well as provincially and
nationally for the Anglican Synod. Canon Feheley is now the incumbent
at St. George’s Memorial Church and the Regional Dean in Oshawa. He
lives there with his wife Judith, teenage sons Kevin and Bryan, and a
cat named Spartacus.
We welcome Paul’s unique perspective about how
Horizon has grown and evolved since his Chairmanship, and where it is
headed in the future.
Food:
Food is primarily provided by our faith groups,
so we always have a wide variety of foods from many cultures.
Food dishes from our guests are welcome but not necessary.
There is always something for everyone, including those with
food restrictions for health or religious reasons.
Entertainment:
We welcome back two excellent performances
from our Concert last January. The Victory Singers will rouse us
again with their harmonies, and a group of Hindu dancers will
grace our stage with colourful movement.
Awards:
Every year Horizon is proud to award certificates of appreciation
to members of our faith groups who have given excellent service
to their faith. We are pleased to do this again this year.
