Alien Radio Station - "Magnetic Trajectory
Concern" (SUGAR5) $15
Alien Radio Station prefer to let their live shows speak for them.
"Dark hop" and "cranks of ambient hip hop" are
a few terms used to describe their sound. "Magnetic Trajectory
Concern" is the title of this, the band's second album. Alien
Radio Station features the seductive sounds of slowed down funky drumming
and jungle-inspired sub-bass synth-basslines. As the beats hypnotize,
the emphasis becomes focused on subtle frequency shifts as avant backing
sounds become the 'melody'.

Soulstorm - "Darkness Visible"
(SUGAR7) $15
"Soulstorm deliver a crushing mix of massive grinding riffs, pummeling
drums and vocals straight out of "The Exorcist". Ferociously
heavy, catchy music that's wonderfully simple without being boring.
Brutal, uncompromising vocals only add to the band's powerful crush."
- JEFF KITTS "Very bleak and depressing. Guaranteed to inspire
at least a few teenage suicides." EXCLAIM "This is a landscape
of angst and torture. Our world is fucked and one day will collapse,
and Soulstorm is gonna provide the soundtrack." - RICK McCOY

Soulstorm - "From Euphoria To Paranoia"
(SUGAR8) $15
The very best time to play "slave" in bondage games is during
tornado watches/warnings. The snap of electricity in the air combined
with the uncertainty of the moment: lips taste like copper, you, surrounded
only by heartbeats, thunder and whip cracks. Thoughts race with impending
doom yet somehow the surrender to perfect calm... The spirited eyes
of your beloved... You immobile, resigned to the onslaught of your
martyrdom... Transfix, relinquish, submit... And as the demon wind
begins to pick up strength, the feeling is one of... delicious terror.
1. Primal 2. Turning Point 3.
Mass Murder Culture 4. Suck (abrasive) 5.Severed 6.
Control (pt 2) 7. Downfactor 8. Seethe (murdersong)
9. Destructive Testing 10. Poison Days 11. Mass
Murder Culture (Yakuza Mix) 12. Mass Murder Culture (Sticky

Alien Radio Station - "Bandwidth"
(SUGAR9) $15
"Probably one of the strangest albums I've heard. This aural
heroin, dub-heavy band brings sub-bass to a new level. With songs
like "Mile High" tracking at over 10 minutes, it can throw
you into a deep hypnosis. Most of it sort of follows you around like
a stalker. Instrumental, sample-ridden songs of dark dub. This is
like instrumental trip hop done by Jeffrey Dahmer. Everyone should
own a copy of "Bandwidth". Probably the closest thing you
can get to death, without actually being there. This is just fucked
up. 5/5" - Effigy Nov/DEC '97
1. Lightheaded 2. Soaking In It
3. Taxi 4. Freakspeak 5. Mile High 6.
Gristle 7. Banging The Tank 8. Bottom Feeder 9.
