Wavestation Resource Centre

Back to Free World Media Index

You are at the World Wide Web headquarters of the Wavestation Mailing List, an internet discussion and support forum for the Korg Wavestation series of music synthesizers.

At this site it is my aim to provide a complete on-line resource for the Wavestation user. If you are interested in joining our discussion forum, click on "How to Subscribe to the List". If you would like to browse our on-line archive of Wavestation-related documents, software, and links to related sites, select "Wavestation Resource Centre".

This forum is made possible by the joint contributions of CloudFactory, Free World Media, and SalinasNet.

Well, thanks to some ISP politics, I had to move the site. Watch out, Wavestationeers, because unfortunately it's not here to stay. I will soon be registering a domain, so the wavestation site will move with it.

It appears as though the site didn't survive the transition well. Some images aren't loading, but you should still be able to get around. Sorry for the general ugliness but you have to understand that these days I'm a professional musician and simply haven't found a spare moment to work on the web site. (sigh)

You will find a few new changes here effective today - mostly corrections and stuff like that. If you have any questions or comments, e-mail me at sc@magic.ca.

Steve Cowan - Wavestation Mailing List Admin Guy

The site has been redesigned (again)!

...but it was necessary for a few reasons:

The most significant change you will find at the site is that the url ending with "atlist.html" will no longer work. If you bookmarked that page to get a view of the current list status, you should erase that bookmark and instead bookmark this page. List status and "Notes from the Administrator" appear below. Sorry for any inconvenience, but the old "menu" structure was too imposing.

The Wavestation site is 100 % caffeine-free, which is my way of saying there are no image maps, no java, no plug-ins required, no cookies, nothing of the sort. Well, OK, I'm fibbing a bit - there is a little fat, in the form of tables, but don't let those discourage you. The tables are only for layout purposes and if you are using a non-tables-aware browser you won't miss out on any information.

For optimum viewing of this site, Netscape Navigator is recommended.

Notes from the Administrator

Note to Programmers:

If you have written any Wavestation-related computer software, please let me know. If this software is available on the internet, also let me know. I will provide a link to any Wavestation-related computer software I am aware of, and I am willing to provide a mirror download site here upon request of the author. Please e-mail me if you would like to discuss this.

the Wavestation Resource Centre...

...continues to grow. Check it out! I want your comments. The other list members want your submissions, particularly regarding programming specs for the Wavestation keyboard and A/D's PCM slot, battery info for the Wavestation SR and A/D, any information regarding the availability of manuals from Korg, any information about the Zadok SAM-1 (a picture would be nice)...

And in Closing:

Thanks to everyone who's subscribed. The Wavestation list is a huge success, thanks to your enthusiasm.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to my "Ski Jam" addiction.

The Wavestation List is Alive!

To subscribe to the Wavestation Mailing List:

Send a message to majordomo@cloudfactory.org
containing the following text:
(leave the subject blank)

subscribe wavestation

or

subscribe wavestation-digest

You read that correctly. After many long months of downtime, it's great to have the list back in action. Don't forget when subscribing to exercise your usual netiquette and check out the guidelines set out in the "Mailing List" portion of the FAQ.

I am very pleased that the list is back up. Special thanks go out to the kind people of the Cloud Factory and SalinasNet in Salinas, California for the use of their server for this public-access non-profit mailing list.

You may also wish to check out the other music mailing lists at cloudfactory.org. Try sending a message to majordomo@cloudfactory.org with the command "lists" to see just what they have brewing!

These WWW pages are in the process of being overhauled. This site may get ugly for a while, but no URLs as you know them will change (this is an important part of my personal WWW philosophy). When it is done this will be an extremely comprehensive information resource for the Wavestation.

The list is now being archived to the WWW! Plans are also in the works to put up an archive of the list from its earlier days on the Magic server. These announcements will be made on this page... so set a bookmark here if you're a Wavestation user!

May you live long and Wavesequence many a great piece,
I remain,

Steve Cowan
Wavestation List Admin.
