On Sunday, October 3, I took a walk down to the Beaches to take some photographs and to relieve some cabin fever from being stuck indoors for half a week with a cold. I got some shots of the beach itself and Lake Ontario, and a few pictures along Queen Street.
This is the Ashbridges Bay Pumping Station. While not as stately as the RC Harris Plant, it's still rather a nice public utility building.

This picture is a little more interesting than the thumbnail implies.

This balalaika guy was quietly busking when I asked if I could take his photograph. He was kinda sceptical about it, but he said okay.

The Island of the Gulls.
This is a pier I launched fireworks off of with friends a few Canada Days ago. By the time I got here he wind--and hence the waves--was really picking up.

A reddening in the east. Getting close to sunset. All the gulls on Gull Island suddenly take off. I catch a little bit of the RC Harris grounds in the left of the frame.

I was standing on some rocks to take most of the sunset pictures. The wind kept getting stronger, so the waves kept getting higher. I was totally soaked by this one after I pressed the shutter release. Note the rainbow colours of dusk in the background.

Between dusk and the wind and getting soaked by waves, I was getting a little chilly, so I wimped out a few minutes before sunset proper. As I was walking away, I noticed these faint dark and light bands in the sky converging to an anti-sun in the east.
I walked up to Queen Street to avoid the heavy wind and got this shot of sunset in the Beaches community.
