HOW AN HRV WORKS
(Van EE 1000 HE)

Vents located throughout the house draw in stale and humid air.

  1. Heat recovery core removes heat from stale air before it is expelled outdoors. Fresh air never actually mixes with exhaust air.
  2. As air is expelled, HRV simultaneously draws in fresh air from outside, warming it with heat recovered from from the indoor air.
  3. Fresh, warm air is released throughout the house.
  4. All models include filters which trap dust particles.
  5. Some models may include an air ionizer which eliminates finer particles such as pollen and smoke from the air. Also helps to neutralize harsh odours - pets, tobacco, cooking, etc.
