If you need to change IRQ you can do so by looking at the IRQ which the modem is on currently. (eg.6 will be used for our purposes). Uninstall the modem
Go to the Device manager tab and then double click on Computer Click on the Interrupt request (IRQ) circle Click on the Reserve Resources tab Click on the Add button Click up until you see the IRQ you will reserved (not to be used in this case 6.) Click ok. Uninstall the modem and reboot. Set your bios PNP/PCI Configuration PNP OS to off. Save and exit and load into windows. It should reinstall the modem bypassing the IRQ you reserved. If it still doesn’t install in the IRQ you want keep on reserving them until it does. Once you have it on the right IRQ you can unreserve the irq you reserved by going to the reserve menu and clicking remove
