Windows NT has a default Com port setting of Com 3 in the registry.
If you wish to change the default
Com Port from Com 3 to another of your choice under Windows NT do the
following:
-Disable Serial port 2 in the Bios.
-In Windows, go into the file Drv_roc.inf
Locate the part that says HKR,Parameters\%Drivername%0,Symboliclinks,ComX
(where x =comport #)
-Then save and exit
-Go to the run option in the Start menu
Enter Regedit
-Go to the following location and change the Com number to the one
of your choice
Hkey_local_machine
Devicemap
Serial com
Double click on default (then change it)
Uninstall the modem and reinstall it.
