CONSTITUTION METCALFE AND DISTRICT HOCKEY ASSOCIATION
ARTICLE 1: NAME 1.1 This organization shall be known as the "Metcalfe and District
Hockey Association", hereinafter referred to as the MDHA.
ARTICLE 2: AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
2.1 To provide a recreational outlet by teaching fair play and
sportsmanship as well as, the game of hockey and its related skills to
players under its charge.
2.2 To have and exercise supervision and direction over players, team
officials and Executives of the MDHA with emphasis on the enhancement of
good character and citizenship.
2.3 To provide fun, recreation and healthy enjoyment through activities,
development programs and competition for all who desire to participate in
hockey, given due consideration to individual capabilities.
ARTICLE 3: BOUNDARIES
3.1 The boundaries of the M.D.H.A. are: starting at a point on Regional Rd.
#8 and Manotick Station Rd., South on Manotick Station Rd. to the bottom of Lot
10, then east along the bottom of Lot 10 to Regional Road 25, then South on
Regional Road 25 to Regional Road 6 ,and East along Regional Road 6 to 4th Line
Rd., South on 4th Line Rd. to Devereaux Rd., East on Devereaux Rd. to 5th Line
Rd., South on 5th Line Rd. to Springhill Rd., East on Springhill Rd. to 6th Line
Rd., South on 6th Line Rd. to Belmeade Rd., East on Belmeade and Marionville
Roads to County Rd. 41, North on County Rd. 41 to Regional Rd. 8, West on
Regional Rd.8 to the point of commencement.
3.2 Further acceptance of registrants in the MDHA would be permitted
under ODMHA rules regarding waivers, releases, and transfers and as approved
by proper authority.
ARTICLE 4: AFFILIATION
4.1 The MDHA is affiliated with the Gloucester Hockey Association (GHA)
District 9 of the Ottawa District Minor Hockey Association (ODMHA) and as such
is a member of the Ottawa District Hockey Association (ODHA) and the Canadian
Hockey Association (CHA) and operates under their general guidelines.
4.2 The MDHA Constitution, By-Laws and Regulations shall govern its
structure, elections and operation and shall not be in conflict with the
Gloucester Hockey Association (GHA) By-Laws and Rules and Regulations. In cases
where a conflict arises the GHA By-Laws and Rules and Regulations shall prevail.
ARTICLE 5: MEMBERSHIP
The membership of the MDHA shall be:
5.1 Executive (elected and/or appointed)
5.2 Ex-officio Directors (team officials in good standing)
5.3 General Membership (all parents or legal guardians who have one or more
children registered in the minor hockey program during the current season)
5.4 Ex-officio Membership (persons actively engaged by or in MDHA operations
and immediate past executive members).

ARTICLE 7: AMENDMENTS TO THE MDHA CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS
7.1 The Constitution and By-Laws of the MDHA shall not be amended except at
the Annual General Meeting. Notice of the proposed amendments shall be given to
the Secretary in writing no later than thirty (30) days prior to the Annual
General Meeting.
All proposed amendments to the Constitution and By-laws shall require a
two-thirds (2/3) majority of the voting members present at the Annual General
Meeting.
Sub-amendments to such amendments may be made and voted upon at the meeting
provided that such sub-amendments do not change the original intent of the
motion.
ARTICLE 8: EFFECTIVE DATE
8.1 This Constitution replaces the Constitution of the MDHA dated April 20,
1997 and shall come into force upon its approval by the membership.
Confirmed by the members of the MDHA at a meeting of which due notice was
given and at which a quorum was present on the 22nd day of March, 2000.
