The VT300 VisAble VideoTelescope has recently
received the POPULAR SCIENCE - "Best of What's New
Award" in its Dec 2001 issue, and ADVANCED IMAGING
Magazine's "Imaging Solution of The Year", March
2002 issue, in the Medical/Diagnostic Imaging &
Visualization category.
The
size of a small camcorder, the VisAble Video
Telescope is designed to enhance the vision of
individuals with visual impairments, such as the
1.2 million Americans suffering from macular
degeneration, a disease characterized by slowly
deteriorating frontal vision. Several devices help
people read, but the VisAble is the first handheld
device meant to enable such everyday tasks as
shopping and crossing the street.
The
electronics were engineered by Baranti Group Inc
for Betacom Corporation.
