We actually
spent two days on the Canal Plus – “Day in the Life of Jackie Chan”
project. We were with him both on and off set. He is a "force of
nature". It was amazing witnessing the volume and variety of work
that he accomplished in just 48 hours.
Television
Production
The
Outer Limits, the X-files, Millenium, Stargate SG-1, Smallville,
Highlander, Cold Squad, The L Word and DaVinci’s Inquest are just a few
of the TV series which have been produced here. Gene Rodenberry’s
Andromeda is one of the most popular shows in syndication. We shot
on-set promos with Kevin Sorbo in both PAL and NTSC digibeta.
Disney
recently completed production on a live action version of Snow White
and the TV movie Ladies and the Champ featuring Olivia Dukakis. We
joined Mandy Patinkin in the courtroom and plane crash sets of NTSB -
Everything That Rises. Other high profile shows include Dark Angel
starring Jessica Alba and Steven Spielberg’s Taken.
Masters of Horror
We had the pleasure of working behind the scenes with John Carpenter,
John Landis Toby Dante and Italian Dario Argento for the behind the
scenes special features material for the dvd release of Mick Garris’s
anthology series. A special treat was working with Oscar winning
Special Makeup FX co-ordinator Howard Berger who is himself very much a
Master of Horror.
For ABC we’ve gone behind the scenes on Kyle XY, Reaper and Samurai
Girl. Disney recently completed production on a live action
version of Snow White and the TV movie Ladies and the Champ featuring
Olivia Dukakis. We've also helped out on other high profile shows
such as Steven Spielberg's Taken and Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital.
Often these shoots require multiple camera setups. We shot a two camera
PAL Digibeta session with the BBC's Michael Buerk interviewing Jim
Caviezel on Mel Gibson's controversial project "The Passion of Christ".
We crewed a three camera shoot for an ABC Primetime feature interview
of Hollywood power couple Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith while Will was
here shooting I Robot.
In the BBC documentary on “The Making of Kingdom Hospital”
we featured a cameo appearance and interview with author Stephen King.
Music
Audiences love to be taken behind the scenes in the music business.
Recently we shot on the set of a music video with Snoop Dogg and spent
a week with Janet Jackson preparing the EPK to launch her All For You
tour.
We’ve been behind the scenes in the recording studio with Shakira,
Sarah McLachlan, Nickleback, and Michael Buble and covered the start of
the Spice Girls Reunion Tour for BBC’s Breakfast Television.
Other recent projects include:
- Tour
promotions for U2, the Rolling Stones, Nickleback and Michael
Buble

Paul McCartney - concert video and promo interviews for European tour
at the Millenium Dome, London.

Animation
and Electronic Games
Vancouver is also a world center for computer animation. Mainframe
Entertainment produced Reboot, the first completely computer generated
children’s series here. They continued with Beast Wars and Gulliver’s
Travels which will be shown in IMAX theatres. Electronic Arts, the
world leader in video game production, has a huge production facility
here. We’ve gone behind the scenes at their Vancouver studios to see
"how they do it" for ESPN and German Television and several US
Gaming shows.
At their Motion Capture studios they have digitized Tiger Woods, Dwayne
Wade, Lennox Lewis and many other world class athletes to include them
in their games, most recently Anthony Parker for NBA Live 2009.
