Tanchaz with Kodaly Ensemble
A live band (Black Earth Ensemble) will be playing music.
Tanchaz is where people basically get up and dance and improvise to
the music, based on the dialect being played. For beginners, we will
also be having teaching circles where members of our
ensemble will conduct informal teaching of basic steps for each dialect
played.

Dunantuli - from Western Hungary - jumping
dance, slow & fast csardas
Szeki - dance from Transylvania which includes
slow and fast csardas, foursome circle dance & polka
Gomori - dance from southern Slovakia -
near Hungarian border
Kalotaszegi - dance from central Transylvania
Moldvai - circle dances from Moldva - Romania
Szatmari - recruiting dance, slow and fast
csardas from North Western Hungary
Mezosegi - spinning dance from the plains
for Transylvania
