Cock-fighting Stats in New Mexico

1. Cock-fighting is currently illegal in all states in the U.S. except for:
- New Mexico
- Oklahoma
- Louisiana

18 states
- make it a felony to organize or participate in cock-fighting
33 states - it is against the law to be a spectator

2. Recent changes in the law:

Missouri (banned in 1998, initiative process; felony - participate;
misdemeanor - attend)
Arizona (banned in 1998, initiative process; felony - participate;
misdemeanor - attend)

3. Cockfighting is prohibited in the following nine New Mexico counties, per county ordinances: County Population (1990 census populations or latest available estimates)
