Parent/Caregiver & Toddlers
(Must be accompanied by parent/caregiver)
 
Unless otherwise noted, all programs begin the week of January 5, 2009
and run for 10 weeks. 
 

Current CECC membership (expiry date – March 2009 or later) is required for registration in all children's programs (with the exception of Drop-Ins ). Two unrelated children attending programs with one caregiver will be charged separately.

ENJOYING YOUR TODDLER

Ages 1 and 2 years

 

Participate in the development of your child’s active socialization, fine and gross motor skills and creativity.  This interactive, structured program runs Mondays and Wednesdays.  Activities include:  free play, arts and crafts, sensory activities, snack, music with shakers,  bean bags, a parachute, and more!  Siblings under the age of one may accompany their parent/caregiver.  You can register for 1 or 2 days per week.

Day:     Mondays and/or Wednesdays
Time:  9:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Dates:  January 5 - March 11 (10 classes)
Cost:   Mondays:  $95.00
            Wednesdays: $95.00

 

 

KID FIT

(Children who are not toilet trained must participate with an adult)

Eating healthy, exercising and fun all go together in this program.  Children will engage in gross motor activities using balls, hoops, beanbags and shakers.  Participants need to wear comfortable clothing, running shoes, and be prepared to have active fun.

Susan Poss is a former kindergarten teacher with many years of experience and has been working with children for more than 20 years.

Day:     Mondays - Ages 2-1/2 - 3-1/2
Dates:  January 5 - March 9 (10 classes)
Time:   2:00 - 2:45 p.m.
Cost:   $75.00

Day:     Mondays - Ages 4 - 6 years
Dates:  January 5 - March 9 (10 classes)
Time:   4:00 – 4:45 p.m.

 TERRIFIC TWOS

Ages 2 years

 

Help your child become more independent with the goal of attending programs on their own.  Join in on circle time, crafts, sensory/science, cognitive/language activities in a cooperative environment.  There will be opportunities available to leave your child in the care of other program participants for part of the program.

Day:   Tuesdays
Time:  9:30 – 11:00 a.m.
Dates: January 6 - March 10 (10 classes)

Cost:   $80.00

 

 

 

VAMOS A CANTAR

Let’s Sing in Spanish

Ages 12 months – 3 years

 

You and your child will learn and enjoy singing and dancing to “La Bamba”, “Cielite Lindo” and many other classic children’s songs in Spanish.  We will learn animal names, body parts and Latin rhythms in a colourful fiesta of fun.  Bienvenidos amigos!!!

Aurora Cacelin is a native Spanish speaker, former childcare teacher and mother of a two year old.

 

Day:    Tuesdays
Time:  10:00 – 10:45 a.m.
Dates: January 13 - March 3 (8 classes)

TODDLER MUSIC & GYM!

Ages 15 months – 2-1/2 years

 

Join your toddler in a structured music circle learning new songs and fingerplays, using musical instruments, a parachute & more!  A gym time with balls, climber, riding toys, tunnels, & active play will end each session.

Day: Thursdays
Time: 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. OR
         10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Dates: January 8 - March 12 (10 classes)
Cost:  $70.00

 

 

STRENGTHENING THE PARENT/CHILD BOND THROUGH ART

NEW DAY

Ages 2 ˝ - 5 years

 

During this program, you and your child will create art together. Learn how to understand your child’s artwork and how to respond in a manner that serves to strengthen the parent/child emotional bond.  Registration is limited to 6 parents/children.

Karen Freud, (B.A., D.A.T.) a professionally trained and experienced art therapist and a member of the Canadian Art Therapy Association and the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists.

 Day:    Wednesdays
Time:  2:30 - 3:30 p.m

Dates: February 11 - March 11 (5 classes)
Cost:   $45.00 per parent/child

 

COMFORT, PLAY & TEACH®

ACTIVITY PROGRAM

Ages 18 months – 3 years

 

Learn how to support your child's development and build a strong relationship with your child.  Opportunities to comfort, play with, and teach your child can be found in the routines that you both share daily.

Day: Fridays
Time: 2:30 - 3:30 p.m.
Dates: February 6 - March 6 (5classes)
