BE it enacted by the Lieutenant Governor
and Legislative Assembly
as follows : --

The Province of New Brunswick shall be divided into
the
several Counties hereinafter named, which shall be bounded as
follows :
1. CHARLOTTE. -- South by Bay
of Fundy ; west by the
River Saint Croix and western shore of the Bay of Passama-
quoddy ; east by the line running true north thirty miles from
Point Lepreaux, as surveyed by Deputies Wilkinson and Mahood
in the years of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty-
eight, and one thousand eight hundred and forty-five ; and north
by the line running true west from the termination of the last-
mentioned line, as surveyed by Deputy Mahood in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty-five, including
all the Islands adjacent thereto, and the Island of Grand Manan,
and the Islands adjacent to it.

16. The said several Counties shall be divided into
the
several Parishes hereinafter named, which shall be bounded as
follows:
IN CHARLOTTE.
DUFFERIN. Commencing in the
centre of the channel of
the River Saint Croix, opposite the mouth of Porter's Mill
stream ; thence following the centre of said channel down stream
around Oak Point, so called, to Oak Point Bay and up the centre
of the channel of Oak Point Bay and of Pagan's Cove, to where
the northern line of Lot fronting on northern side of River Saint
Croix intersects said Cove ; thence westerly and northwesterly
along said line to the Bay Road, so called ; thence westerly along
said road to Porter's Mill stream, and thence down said stream
to beginning.
SAINT DAVID.
South by Dufferin ; west by the east line
of lots on Dennis stream prolonged southerly to Dufferin, and
by the west lines of the grant to Henry Goldsmith and others ;
north by the north line of the said grant ; east by the east line
of the said last-mentioned grant ; southeast and southerly by
a line commencing at the most northern angle of a four hundred
and eighty-eight acre lot granted to Daniel Hill on Waweig
River ; thence southwesterly to the most western angle of the
said lot ; thence southeasterly to the northeast angle of lot
number thirty granted to W. Ross ; thence westerly along the
north line of the said last-mentioned grant and its western pro-
longation to the northeast angle of lot number eight granted to
James Garcelon ; thence south to the southeast angle of lot
number four granted to James Christie ; thence west to the
southwest angle of the said last-mentioned lot ; thence south
along the eastern line of lots fronting on Oak Bay to Waweig
Bay ; thence down the channel of Waweig Bay and up the chan-
bel of Oak Bay to Pagan's Cove, where the northern line of
Dufferin intersects it, excluding Rickett's Island in Waweig Bay.
SAINT STEPHEN.
South by Dufferin and the River Saint
Croix ; east by Saint David ; north by the north line of lot num-
bered fifty-three (P. Christie) and its prolongation, and the
north line of lot numbered sixteen (Angus Rankin) and its west-
erly prolongation ; west by the west line of lot numbered sixty
(R. M. Todd) and its prolongation.
SAINT JAMES.
South by Saint Stephen and Saint David ;
east by the northerly prolongation of the east line of Saint
David ; north by the County line ; and west by the River Saint
Croix.
SAINT CROIX.
East and south by a line beginning at the
most northern angle of a four hundred and eighty-eight acre lot
granted to Daniel Hill on Waweig River ; thence south along
the southern prolongation of the eastern line of the grant to
Henry Goldsmith and others to it point intersected by the south-
western prolongation of the northwestern line of lot number
three, granted to James McFarlane ; thence northeasterly along
the said prolongation and line to the northeast angle of said lot
number three ; thence southerly along the east line of that lot
and its prolongation to the southeast angle of a lot granted to
John H. Armstrong ; thence southwesterly to the southwest
angle of that lot ; thence southeasterly along the northeasterly
line of a lot granted to William Reading to the most eastern
angle of same ; thence southwesterly to the northeastern line of
a lot granted to Rachael Mowatt ; thence southeasterly along
the said line to the most eastern angle of the said lot ; thence at
right angles southwesterly along the, southeastern line of the
said lot and its prolongation to the northeastern line of lot
number four, granted to Maxwell Lowry ; thence southeasterly
along said line to the most eastern corner of said lot number
four ; thence at right angles southwesterly along the southeast
line of said lot number four and its southwestern prolonga-
tion till it intersects the southern prolongation of the east-
ern line of the grant to Henry Goldsmith and others ; thence
southerly in a direct line to the southeast angle of lot number
eleven, granted to James Greenlaw ; thence westerly along the
southern line of said lot to the Saint Andrews Branch of the
Canada Pacific Railway ; thence southerly along said Railway
and the southern shore of Chamcook Lake to a point intersected
by a line running north twenty degrees east by the magnet of
the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four, from the
northeast angle of the lot number fifty-two in the Grant to the
Penobscot Association (third division) on the eastern side of
the River Saint Croix ; thence along said line to the northeast
angle of said lot number forty-two ; thence southerly along said
grant to the northerly line of the Western Commons ; thence
westerly along said Commons grant to the River Saint Croix ;
west by the River Saint Croix and Saint David ; north by Saint
David, including Rickett's Island in Waweig Bay, and Doucett's
Island in the River Saint Croix.
SAINT ANDREWS.
North by Saint Croix ; west by the River
Saint Croix ; south by Passamaquoddy Bay, and east by the
west line of lot number twenty granted to F. Welsh, including
Chamcook and Saint Andrew's Islands.
SAINT PATRICK.
West and northwest by Saint Andrews
and Saint Croix ; east by the west line of the grant to Philip
Bailey and others, and its northerly prolongation ; north by a
line commencing at a most southern angle of lot number five
granted to John Gilman on the southwestern side of Digdequash
[sic]
River ; thence northeasterly along the southeasterly line of said
lot to the Digdequash River ; thence downstreamalong the same
to the lower line of the lot granted to John Campbell ; thence
along the same easterly to the rear thereof ; thence northerly
along the rear of the said last-mentioned lot to meet the westerly
prolongation of the line dividing the lots ten and eleven in the
Clarence Hill, and thence easterly along the said line dividing
the lots number ten and eleven to the eastern boundary of the
Parish ; and south by Passamaquoddy Bay, including all the
Islands west of the east line of the said Parish within two miles
of the shore.
DUMBARTON. West by Saint David
and Saint James ; north
by the County line ; east by the northern prolongation of the
eastern boundary of Saint Patrick, and south by Saint Patrick.
SAINT GEORGE.
West by Saint Patrick, Dumbarton and
the Bay of Passamaquoddy ; north by the County Line ; east
by the rear line of lot numbered three granted to William Payne,
and its prolongation northerly to the County Line, and southerly
to L'Etang River ; south by the Bay of Fundy, the channel to
and through Big L tete Passage and the channel to and through
L'Etang Harbour and River, including Bliss Island.
CLARENDON. West by Saint George
; north and east by
the County Lines, and south by a line run true west from the
most southern angle of Queen's County to the eastern boundary
of Saint George.
PENNFIELD. Westerly by Saint
George and L'Etang River ;
north by Clarendon ; east by a line commencing at the western
bank of shore of the River Popologan, where it falls into the
Bay of Fundy, and running true north to the Parish of Claren-
don ; and south by the Bay of Fundy, including, the Wolves
Islands and all other Islands within two miles of the shore not
included in Saint George.
LE PREAUX.
West by Pennfield ; north by Clarendon ;
east by the County Line, and south by the Bay of Fundy, in-
cluding Popologan, New River and Salkeld Islands, and all other
Islands in front within two miles of the shore.
CAMPO BELLO.
Being the Island so named, and other
Islands to the south and east of Head Harbour Passage, but
west of Grand Manan.
WEST ISLES.
To consist of Deer Island and the lesser
Islands contiguous to it, not included in the Parishes before
mentioned.
GRAND MANAN.
Being the Island so named and all the
Islands to the south and east thereof.
