John Trounce

John was an Agricultural Labourer in the 1841 Census, a Potato Dealer inthe 1851 Census, an ag lab in 1861, a Farmer in the Veryan district in1871, while the 1881 Census gives his occupation as a Carrier.


Martha Rowe

In the 1891 Census, Martha was a widow, living in Veryan Green. In 1901,she was listed as a Pauper.


Samuel Trounce

Samuel was an Apprentice Carpenter in Veryan in 1871.


Martha Ann Trounce

The 1881 Census listed Martha Ann as a Domestic Servant, living at homein Veryan.

William John Trounce

William was the founder of the "Daily Gazette" newspaper in London in1856. He started his working life, while still a teenager, in a smallCornish printing office. He left for London and there worked in aprinting shop as a compositor before going to Paris where he worked for ayear. He returned to London and became a printer at the "Express". Heopened his own printing office and in 1852, established the "IslingtonDirectory" which later developed into the "Islington Gazette", which soldfor a halfpenny. It began as a weekly but then in 1865, was publishedtwice weekly. In 1877, his son began to publish three times a week.


William Samuel Trounce

William took over the management of the Islington Gazette from his fatheron January 1, 1877. In 1901, his occupation was given as a Printer andhe was living in Hornsey, Middlesex.


Caroline Jane Trounce

Caroline was living in Hornsey, Middlesex in 1901.


Alfred Trounce

Alfred was called up for military service in June, 1916 and crossed overto France for service in World War One in January 1917. He died atYpres in France, while serving with the Second Batallion, EssexRegiment. He is buried in Dozinghem Military Cemetery, Belgium.
