In 1901, the family was livingin Paignton, Devon. In 1904, he became manager of the Truro branch andretained the position when the bank merged with the Lloyd's Bank. He wasa sidesman at the Cathedral, treasurer of the British Bible Society andof the Rural District Council. As a Mason, he held office in the PhoenixLodge. He resided in Culroy near Truro.
