WORSHIPFUL MASTER'S MESSAGE
I along with W. Bro. Keir MacMillan had the pleasure
recently to interview a new candidate for admission to Tuscan Lodge. We both
found him to be enthusiastic about Masonry and I for one found that to be
refreshing in light of what I see to be a general lack of enthusiasm for the
Craft, demonstrated by some of my Brethren lately.
It’s true that we all find that there are ever
increasing demands for our time, work, family, friends, all deserve and need
us to be present in their lives. Brethren! The Craft is no less deserving of
our time and commitment, especially given the obligations we took, when we
entered the Craft. It’s been said, you had no choice when it came to
choosing your family but you can pick your friends and we did choose Masonry
and like ALL things in life you get out of it what you put into it. I for
one have received a great deal out of Masonry, I’ve had the pleasure to
have met some very special people, and have been enriched in more ways than
I can express.
As I struggled through personal challenges over the last
few years I was give friendship and support from my Brethren, who were there
when I needed a hand and a shoulder to cry on. Masonry is not just memory
work and knowing where to stand and what to say, it’s relationships and
knowing you have Brethren you can count on in your own Lodge and anywhere
you travel in the world and in life.
I hope to see more of my very special Brothers in Tuscan
Lodge soon.
I would like to send a greeting to all of our Brethren who are out of
Town and a Special get well to W. Bro. William Hoover, who is recovering
from Knee surgery.
Fraternally,
James McKinnon, Jr.
Worshipful Master
Our sympathies to V.W. Bro John
Petch on the death of his sister on January 9, 2003 and to Bro. Wilf Medland on
