Robyn Reodica - Young voice, Cheerful Soul, all Heart It was the first time I was going to record my first original song completely, with a female vocal being the solo lead. This was sometime early 1998, when I asked Robyn if she would like to try singing one of my songs. She has such a cute voice! It was quite a challenge; however, mixing her voice was a breeze! It was as if her vocal chords had built in presence. The microphone I was using at the time of recording was only suited for limited applications, but Robyn really made it sounds professional! It was like she was--there--in the mix! Robyn is very active in Youth prayer group organizations, as well as a little performance here and there. Sometimes she'll help her brother, Joel with his DJ projects. She definetly knows how to create a presence when it comes to performing. Very calm, very smooth and always stays on top of the program. Especially at my cousin's graduation, where she had a little joke going with Ray, another friend of ours, where he had to translate some words in Filipino. Ray is not Filipino, but he sure enjoyed the challenge in front of 300 people! I first met Robyn at St. Rose of Lima Church, the same church where I met Donald Toress. She's always willing to try and sing something new, and she's not afraid to to explore the posssiblities. She really loves to sing! We treat each other like brother an sister; or Kuya and "Ading" (Filipino dialects, one in tagalog and another in Ilocano). Almost like the cutest "little" sister I never had (sorry for the word "little", Robyn!). She's very deeply dedicated to her heritage, both Canadian and Filipino. You can almost find her at any Filipino events, such as the Knights of Columbus gatherings and so forth. Her greatest musical influence? "Lea Salonga" she says. In my opinion, Robyn could become the Canadian Donna Cruz. I'm very grateful to call Robyn my friend. She's one of the many supportive people I know and that coupled with a warm heart and cheerful smile. And I enjoy calling her my little sister--she's sooo cute! (One could almost hug her, and squeeze her till' her eyeballs pop out! hahah--just kidding Robyn!)
