True Humanitarianism

August 1999.

Ethnic cleansing was used as an excuse to attack Yugoslavia. After the bombing on March 24, 1999, the ethnic cleansing really started in Kosovo. Bombing from an altitude of thirty thousand feet, it was a certainty to kill many innocent victims while police in civilized countries are instructed not to open fire in a crowded street. Bombing power stations stopped the operation of cold storage and water purification. This was war on civilians. Bombing TV stations was justified by the excuse that they were churning out propaganda while north American media demonizing the Serbs, failing to mention the true colour of KLA. While the bombs were raining down on Yugoslavia, NATO leaders talked about humanitarianism, human rights, the right to free speech and democracy. A corrupt politician attempted to redefine "aggression." Just look at whose armed forces cross national borders. It was not about territories nor about wealth but it was about domination. The desire to dominate others will lead to conflict, murder and war whether it is among high school students or among nations. If the rules applied to Yugoslavia were applied to Canada, Canada would be torn to pieces. The role of the federal government in NATO action against Yugoslavia has been very divisive in Canada. What is done is done.

What is going to happen? Many countries are devoting more resources to weapon research, purchase or manufacturing. Better weapons make sure of victory and victors are immune from prosecution of war crime. If more of the economic surplus of the world is directed to war, there will have very little wealth left for the most important, the war between us, mankind, and the pathogens. It is dangerous to let appalling living conditions in Yugoslavia and Iraq to continue.

There are evidences indicating that a new strain of a pathogen, created in 1960, is attacking humans now, leading to the appearance of new diseases and the increases of incidences of old diseases, ranging from AIDS, ALS, asthma, diabetes to Parkinson's disease. Countries with poor living conditions will act like a gigantic cultural media for pathogens which are going to spread to other parts of the world. Power-hungry politicians, who want Yugoslavia to fulfill certain conditions before reconstruction and Iraq before lifting sanction, do not know what they are doing.
