  1. On the home page we are told that both the writer and her grandmother share a love of quilting. We also know that Grandma was a mystery writer.

  2. In the letter at the beginning of Grandma's diary, we learn that the writer's first name is Emma and her grandmother's name is Annie Barker.

  3. Inside the diary, we learn that Maude is an artist because she has illustrations appearing in a magazine. Henry's quilt is a bearspaw and Eva's is a fan quilt.

  4. Grandma also reveals that her son Fred's hobby is carpentry and his quilt reflects the log home he built. His last name would be Barker. Grandma's son-in-law (surnamed Fabian) likes to gamble at the race track and the type of quilt Grandma made for him unflatteringly reflects his personality. She hints that he is a manager in his job. Eva is a hairdresser and Maude likes to travel.

  5. Grandma's diary tells us that Louise is Emma's mother, she has no job outside the home, and her hobby is tennis. Mark is Emma's father. Henry is Emma's great-uncle and he works in a law firm. Robert was a builder and his quilt had a sawtooth border. Grandma has a charm quilt.

  6. Emma is apparently a teacher from the clues in the diary, and her quilt is the baby quilt Grandma made when she was born. Henry enjoys sketching as a hobby and Eva enjoys reading. Grandma is making an applique floral quilt for Maude.

  7. Fred is selling cattle, so he must be a farmer. He is Emma's uncle(her mother's brother).

  8. The photo album displays 9 photos of family members arranged by surname (Fabians, Hunters, and Barkers) in any order. We are told that Annie Barker's photo is in the top row at the right side. Thus, the first row are all Barkers.

  9. The other two Barkers are Grandma's son Fred (on the left) and Robert Barker, her husband, (in the centre). In the second row, from left to right, are Grandma's younger sister, older sister, and her brother. According to her diary, they are Hunters (her maiden name), so her siblings are Maude, Eva (the youngest sister), and Henry. In the third row, are Emma, Grandma's son-in-law, and her daughter. Their last name is Fabian: they are Emma, Mark and Louise (from left to right).

  10. In the Word Search Puzzle there are names of types of quilts (e.g., crazy, logcabin, fan, baby, charm, bearspaw, star, sawtooth, and applique), which are shown in Grandma's Quilts section.

  11. One family member's hobby is not mentioned at all. By deduction, you can find out who the stamp collector is by using the Chart and Solver. Click on the photo of the stamp collector in the Photo Album for another clue.
