The objectives of the Society are to promote the increase and diffusion of knowledge respecting the peoples and countries of the Commonwealth; to maintain the best traditions of the Commonwealth; and to foster unity of thought and action in relation to matters of common interest. The Toronto Branch was established in 1950. Its 500 members sponsor educational charitable activities reflecting commonwealth values, and enjoy knowledgeable speakers at their monthly dinner meetings. The Society encourages personal contact in its non-sectarian, non-partisan, and non- governmental environment. Membership is open to any Commonwealth citizen.
