That's a really tough question--- Mrs. Helen or Ellen Gallinger. That means her maiden name was ? As it stands I do not have this Sinclair marriage in my records but I might have the Gallinger marriage if I knew who Mrs. Gallinger was originally or what her Gallinger husband's name was. I suppose you realize all this. ;-( Best I have is James Gallinger m Ellen Bannerman (she died 1904) 2 kids Elizabeth, Elwood If you do find / have any further information, I'd be happy to look through my files again. regards Lily (jworrall@cnwl.igs.net) Searching: Gallinger, Piper, Lockerby, Lapensee ============================================== X-From_: jworrall@cnwl.igs.net Tue Mar 25 20:11:10 1997 Date: Tue, 25 Mar 1997 19:11:14 -0500 (EST) X-Sender: jworrall@host.cnwl.igs.net To: slo@dakota.net From: jworrall@cnwl.igs.net (Lily/John Worrall) Subject: Polk & Duffin Cc: griffish@idirect.com Hi Sherry, Shaun Griffiths forwarded your note to me as I have a copy of "200 years of Life in Osnabruck Township 1784-1984" . This is a small book typed on 8-1/2 X 14 paper, folded in half and totalling 93 pages. It is not a proper "history book" per se. It mentions a lot of names and has a few photos of the flooded villages. My grandmother lived north of Aultsville for a number of years and my family has many fond memories of that little town. By the way, Osnabruck Centre still exists! It was not one of the flooded villages. It is about 6 miles north of Ingleside which is right along the St. Lawrence River in Eastern Ontario. I've driven through Osnabruck Centre many times and today it's a gathering of about 12 houses. I checked the book on Osnabruck Township and found only one reference... "S. S. No. 19 - Newington. The school had two rooms, situated at the north-east corner of the village and took in the farms on that road from the boundary with Roxborough on the east and the east half of lot 9 in the west. The teachers were (a list and)...Mary Duffin. This school was burned in 1950 when there were just two rooms. Rebuilt, and when the township school area increased later, enlarged to six rooms, with another addition added to the front later. The first school was built of logs on the Martin farm, east of the village, then moved to its present site and the first eacher was Victoria Martin." If I can be for any further assistance, do write. regards Lily ================================================= X-From_: tpgen@northernnet.com Wed Mar 26 03:13:10 1997 Date: Wed, 26 Mar 1997 01:05:30 -0600 From: Timothy Grinsell (tpgen@northernnet.com) To: griffish@idirect.com Subject: Cryderman/Bush X-URL: http://Home.InfoRamp.Net/~griffish/gene/gall/gal1.htm Dear Shaun, It was a pleasant surprise to find the name Cryderman on your family papers. I will tell you what I know and I'd like to see if my Cryderman boy fits into your family. Hiram Bush was born in 1820 at Lunenburg, Ontario to (?). He married Alta (Altha) Pillar who was born 21 Jun 1825 at Williamsburg, Ontario. I don't know when Hiram died (probably 1876-1915) but Alta died 30 Dec 1914 at Rolla, North Dakota. Where can I find out more about Lunenburg and Williamsburg? There seems to be little written about them other than the census. They had 12 children all born at Lunenburg: Adalaide (Addlie) 1844, Charles 1847, Lindsay 1850, Jammimah (Mine) 1852, Albertona 1855, Johail (Delacey) 1857, Geneva 1858, Jane 1861, Nelle 1868, Jacob (John) Henry Franklin born 20 Aug 1870 (my great grandfather), Altha 1878, and Josie 1879. Hiram was a farmer at Osnabruck, Stormont County, Ontario. He was English and a member of the Church of England and W. Presbyterian. He was listed in the census of 1881 as Bailiff, Division Court. In 1871, Michael Cryderman, age 6, born Ontario, was living with the Hiram Bush family. Michael was not listed in 1881. Why would Michael be listed with this family? Were they neighbors? I always thought he was awfully young to not be with his family. What is the story? Are Crydermans related to the Bush family? It would be of great interest to me to find out more about your Cryderman family from the same area of Ontario. Please e-mail me! Sincerely, Patriece L.
