INTRODUCTION CONT...
The growing popularity of the video camera makes it almost as pervasive as many other home appliances. It is now possible to videotape important events and celebrations cheaply and easily. On the whole this is a good thing, but there are some negative consequences. For one thing, most people tend to videotape way too much and pay very little attention to the importance of editing and telling some sort of a story. The power of visuals comes not simply from the visuals themselves but from the way the visuals interact with one another to reveal information, ideas, and elicit some sort of an emotional response.
Like the video camera, the Internet provides the means to communicate information and ideas. There are now hundreds of thousands of Web sites competing for attention, each with its own distinct style and message. Some sites are highly successful and command visitors' attention and interest, while others fail to ignite much reaction. As with video, a successful Web site adheres to certain principles corresponding to the interaction of images, layout, and information.
ImagiN Enterprises is about giving shape, through the editing process, to visual or textual information and thus eliciting a positive emotional and intellectual response to whatever message is being communicated. |
