  • Working videography experience shooting BETACAM SP and SX and studio cameras.

  • Experience reporting live from the scene or live-to-tape for ENG/EFP.

  • Able to write short and snappy copy, in broadcast format, that is 
accurate and interesting.

  • Extensive editing experience using linear Sony 500, Sony 910, 
Sony 2000, AMPEX 25 and non-linear Mac and PC editing systems.
    • 

  • A rare journalistic/television-technical background -- able 
to generate characters using Inscriber eXtreme, read wave forms and 
vector scopes to adjust video and able to trouble-shoot on-location
or in studio many technical situations.
    • 

  • Working experience in all aspects of studio, field, mobile and
live-eye production.



Print Skills


  • Working knowledge of fully manual and automatic 35mm
cameras, including Canon and Pentax systems.
    • 

  • Digital imaging including scanning negatives or fully developed photos
on Mac or PC, using PhotoShop.
    • 

  • Specializing in action shots, photojournalism and investigative photography.
    • 

  • Excellent pagination skills in QuarkXPress and Page Maker.
    • 

  • Able to meet or beat word counts and deadlines.
    • 

  • Familiar with computer assisted research and reporting, freedom of information requests and other investigative techniques.
    • 

  • Internet and web savvy.
    • 

  • Able to do manual or computer-based paste-up.



Computer Skills


  • Extensive experience with both IBM/compatible and Mac systems
 including MS-DOS, MS-Windows, Windows95, OS/2, System 7.5 and UNIX.
    • 

  • Solid page layout and design skills using QuarkXPress.
    • 

  • Advanced Internet and World Wide Web skills, including searching 
on-line, HTML coding, JAVA scripting, and web page layout and design.
    • 

  • Advanced abilities in: MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), 
WordPerfect, Harvard Graphics, Adobe Photoshop, QuarkXPress, 
PrintShop, Eudora Mail, Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer.
