Download zipped HTML files AlgebraDocs.zip containig full documentation for the Java archive Algebra . To view the documentation unzip the zip-file in a directory of your choice and then open the file index.html with your browser. The troubles in some versions of Netscape Navigator are caused by the fact that these versions are using jar files also for plugin installation. In addition to it the browser may attempt to run JS files with Windows Scripting Host. Both attempts fail. These failures are harmless.
Jar files differ from zip files only by extension name and can be used with WinZip on the same way as zip files. The advantage of using jar files is in the fact that java class loaders can load classes directly from a jar file without the necessity to decompress it first. Also, when running an applet, the jar file is downloaded as a whole and the applet does not have to download every single class file separately when it is needed.
