Mission Complete on Project Brush-up

Camp Samac- In the month of June, the 1st Whitby Troop youth planned a community service project. To the youth, it was a way of giving back to the community that helped them have a very

successful and eventful Scouting season in 1st Whitby Troop.

One of the projects the Troop spent the weekend on was painting 500ft of fence around the pool deck. The paint was in rough condition and Scouts first scraped away old paint before applying a fresh coat. We are happy to report that not one spill of paint landed on the deck.

Two Additional Projects Completed During Project Brush-up

In addition to the pool fence, Scouts painting all of the windows on the pool house and all of council hall! This will make a huge difference to the public perception of the area.

The Troop also painted all of the hydrant areas and gas lines saftey yellow.

Camp Samac- Two Scouts concentrate on their work while painting two of the pool house windows during Project Brush-up.
This was a very large project for the youth to complete and not only that they had to careful not to spill or drip any paint onto the pool surface. Youth displayed a tremendous amount of teamwork, patience and determination to finish their task they had planned out. They can be very proud of themselves; the Troop Scouter sure is.

Camp Samac- With a little elbow grease, the pool deck is now ready with a fresh coat of paint and looks sharp for the summer camper season.
