  • Update on Scores and Standings Report
    * January 28th - 3:25pm
    Begining immediately the PMNHL will no longer post "scores" from the previous week. The weekly schedule will still be posted, and team scores are available in the stats report. Also, the previous weeks schedule will remain posted with the currents weeks schedule. This system has been implemented because many franchises still have not paid their outstanding debts, the PMNHL will continue to find time and cost saving measures to be used.

  • Trading Deadline Announced
    * January 21st - 1:40am
    The PMNHL has set February 28th/98 @ 11:59pm as it's trading deadline for the 1997-1998 season. This date keeps with PMNHL tradition of having the last day of February as the trading deadline, and it falls one-month prior to our inaugural playoff season to crown 1997-1998 PMNHL Champion. A reminder, all player trades, free-agent signings and drops must be in PMNHL offices before midnight on February 28th/98 - NO EXCEPTIONS!

  • Outstanding Debts
    * January 7th - 7:39pm
    ATTENTION OWNERS - Please pay all outstanding debts to the PMNHL as soon as possible. The stats service is paid on a monthly basis for the player transactions, and without the payment for those trades and your player salaries, the PMNHL will lose money running the league, and the prize pot will not grow. Please help in making the PMNHL a success this year, and many years to come!

  • New Name for Kingston * October 10th - 3:03pm
    During this Season's Entry Draft the Kingston Scout Marauders unvailed their bold new logo to PMNHL Owners. Word has now reached PMNHL Offices that the franchise will have a new name next season to accompany their new logo. The announcement will be made during this seasons All-Star Break. The Kingston franchise told league offices that the name is origonal, and not used by any franchise in the four top professional sports today. Also, with the close resemblance of their logo to a minor league club, the Scout Marauders informed the PMNHL that the new name is not that of the team they resemble, in any way.

Smyth, even after undergoing surgery prior to the draft, he attended and represented his franchise in a professional manner.

    Round of the PMNHL Expansion Process is complete. If your team name is listed as a successful applicant, it does not mean you have gained immediate exceptance to the PMNHL , but have made it to the 2nd round. If your team name is not listed as a successful applicant it does not mean you won't be voted in the PMNHL, the board votes on the remaining franchises and any new applications that are submitted. The two groups are then compiled and the final teams are voted on. GOOD LUCK! A link to the list can be found on the main page HERE.

  • PMNHL Rule Change Proposals Released * August 7th, 1997 - 12:32am
    The PMNHL is taking a bold step into the future with a drastic rule change proposal for the upcoming 1997-1998 season. The biggest rule change proposals are those that see head-to-head play begin, the end to compensation points, and the end to free agency. The Rule change proposal can be reviewed by anyone, at this time it has not been published on "The PMNHL's Home Ice on the Net" but can be obtained with a simple request to PMNHL Offices.

If you do not see your team name on the list, and you sent in an application, fear not, simply re-send your application. • Re-Alignment After Expansion * April 14th - 10:00pm
    The PMNHL is set to Re-Align it's conferences after expansion this season. Currently the PMNHL has two conferences: the North American Conference and the European Conference. Next season the PMNHL will have three conferences: the All-Canadian Conference, the All-American Conference, and the All-World Conference, assuming the new expansion teams can be intergrated into this format, if not, a new plan and conference names will be published.

  • In the Know
    It appears the PMNHL's plan to expand one again this season has finally produced an unhappy owner. Although during the entire season it was known that the PMNHL would be expanding for the 1997-1998 campaigne, one owner has finally surfaced with objections. The Owner and General Manager of the Albany Wolfwoods Warriors has stated firmly "there's no way we should allow any more teams in..." The Albany Owner then went on to state that each new team hinders his chance of winning a PMNHL title, and he is already upset that the expansion team Santa Fe Extreme are close to becoming PMNHL champs. Of course the league frowns on this type of behavior and such comments will not go with being well noted in league offices. All other eleven owners are welcoming expansion for next season, as is the PMNHL Commissioner.

  • Trading Deadline Report
    The PMNHL Trading Deadline has come and gone, and this year we made history. For the first time in our four years of exsistance, no player trades or free agent signings went through on the day of the deadline. Many rumors about player movement began early last week when the Rhode Island Riot signed Geoff Courtnal as a free agent, but that was the last deal made. More rumors surfaced after Adam Oates & Rick Tocchett were dealt to the Washington Capitals, but no PMNHL teams made any moves. It will go down in history, the only deadline day that saw no player moves.

  • On the Move
    It appears the PMNHL's bad boys franchise, the Rhode Island Riot, might be on the move. Riot GM Bill Black has informed the league that he plans to establish a franchise in the "Golden Horse Shoe" area of Ontario. The NHL has decided not to expand in Hamilton, and the PMNHL is happy to fill the void of professional hockey in that area. The PMNHL does not want to fold the team in Rhode Island as it has been very successful, and the fans very loyal. The PMNHL has decided that if Bill Black wishes to establish a team in the "Golden Horse Shoe", the league would sell the Riot to a new investor and Bill Black would have to establish his new team as an expansion franchise. The new investor who purchases the Riot would then gain controlling interest in the players currently on the Riot franchise. The NHL does not want Riot GM Bill Black to establish a new franchise, as he has been very successful in Rhode Island.

  • Voting to Begin on Rule Changes! March 30th - 1:15am
    The PMNHL is currently authoring the ballots to be sent to the members of the Board of Governors for the voting on next seasons rule changes. The majority of the focus will be placed on the addition of PMNHL teams protecting players for the upcomming season. At the forefront are the issues of: how many players to protect, how many from each position allowed to be protected, when the deadline for the protected list falls, and the details dates and deadlines for the expansion entries and draft. All desicions will be announced here.

  • Inter-League Title Races Heat Up! March 21st - 3:29pm
    The race for the PMNHL's Inter-League Titles are heating up. The key race seems to be for the "Power Plant Award". The Power Plant Award is awarded to the top Pickering based PMNHL Franchise. Currently the Randalstown Blues (winner of the Power-Plant Award in 95-96) sit 6.50pts ahead on the Kingston Scout Marauders, who sit 0.25pts ahead of the Brandon Blades. Niether Kingston or Brandon has ever won the honored title. Other Inter-League title races include Randalstown and Kingston once again battling for the McCartney Cup (top traditional five franchise), and again Kingston, Brandon, and the London Fire battling for the Centennial Challenge Cup.

  • All-Star Game March 17th - 2:05pm
    The PMNHL's annual mid-winter All-Star was put on hold this season due to circumstances beyond the PMNHL's control. However, the host franchise, The Santa Fe Extreme will be playing host to league's top stars. This season the PMNHL will be announcing the All-Star squads at the end of the season. Santa Fe will host the event, the announcements will take place after the final stats report is published right here on the PMNHL's Home Ice on the Net.

  • Building for the Future March 11th - 11:48am
    The PMNHL is finally going through with it's plan to have franchises prepare for the future. The proposed plan will have teams hold on to three of their franchise players, with a maximum of two forwards, two defencemen, and one goaltender, as the make up of the three protected players. PMNHL Commissioner John P. McCartney has decided that such a move constitues a league wide vote, instead of the usual practice of having the Board of Governors make the decision through a vote. The final decision on the matter is expected in mid March, and will be announced prior to, or included in, the final season report.

  • 96-97 PMNHL Champion Crowned! April 15th - 12:30pm
    The PMNHL 1996-1997 Season has come to an end in a less than dramatic fashion. The Santa Fe Extreme and the Randalstown Blues were the only two teams to the PMNHL all season long, and as the season closed out, one of those to power-houses was crowned champ. The Santa Fe Extreme in only their first year of existence held off a late charge by Traditional Five Franchise and three time runner-up the Kingston Scout Marauders. Santa Fe shall wait until next seasons entry draft for their official coronation, when they will witness their Championship banner raised to the rafters.
