PROBE GT (1994)

The Probe GT handles amazingly - even stock with no modifications.  But who's happy with that??

After a few clicks you will find that this site is largely still under construction.
Please have a look around and come back later to see what changes have taken place.

The 1994 Ford Probe GT is a really great car!!!  The only downside is that it was built with far to little power.  Although I really do like the Mustang and you can't ignore the history that is so much a part of our culture, if they had sold the Probe with a bigger/better engine, there would have been far fewer Mustangs sold in North America.  Alas, as a result of Ford's unwillingness to put a decent engine in the car, the Mustang has survived (and prospered) and the Probe has gone the way of the DeLorean.  As the manufacturer did not make an option for a bigger/faster engine, Probe owners around the globe have taken to making their GTs faster on their own.

Unfortunately, the Probe engine already runs very efficiently and, as such, modifications do not have the same comparative increase in horsepower or torque that other car owners are able to benefit from (although much slower than the Probe GT - the Honda Civic and Acura Integra come to mind).  I never could understand why these guys (they are mostly guys as far as I can tell) would go out and buy a Civic or Integra or something like this and then spend significant dollars upgrading and modifying it so that it will go faster.  Why don't they just buy a faster car - like the Probe!!!  I would put my Probe up against any of these cars.  I have other opinions on these cars but you should see my cheezy cars web site for more details.
