Supplies: Delta: Midnight Blue, Denim Blue, Chambray, JS Clear Glaze Medium "Porcupine" Pad - found in specialty Paint Brush Section of Home Depot 1. Sand and tack surface, seal with JS Clear Glaze Media, sand and tack again. 2. Basecoat surface with Midnight Blue 3. When surface is dry, mix 1 part Denim Blue + 1 part Glazing Media. Paint surface with this mixture, then drag Porcupine pad through wet mixture in one direction, and then in the other direction several times. Let dry. Clean pad after each drag. 4. Mix 1 part Chambray + 1 part Glazing Media and paint over the surface. Drag the Porcupine pad through the wet paint as in step 3 5. If surface is too dark repeat steps 3 and 4 Supplies: JS All Purpose Sealer, JS Walnut Gel Stain, Decoart Bt Sienna, Soft Black, Large Rake/Comb Brush, Tissue Paper 1. Sand and tack surface. 2. Crumble tissue paper. Tear or cut in pieces to fit areas. You want them to be larger than the area. They can be trimmed when dry. 3. Apply JS All Purpose Sealer to area, working with it wet, apply crinkled tissue paper until happy with it. You can have it smooth or more texture. 4. After the paper is dry, any overhanging edges can easily be removed with a piece of sandpaper rubbed lightly over the edges. 5. When all sections are completely dry, apply another coat of sealer over the tissue paper. Let dry. 6. Base the area with Bt Sienna. When dry apply a glaze of Walnut Gel Stain + water. If you want your book to be darker add some Soft Black to the glaze. While the glaze is wet, drag a flogger brush or Rake/Comb from top to bottom. 7. When you are happy, allow to dry. For a matte finish, use Krylon #1311 Matte Spray, several light coats. |
