Tim Packer, Watercolour Instructor
C.S.P.W.C./C.I.P.A

Watercolour Teacher and Designer

We at Creative Pastimes would like to welcome Tim Packer to our Talented Instructor Staff. He will be offering a series of workshops and seminars in the Basic's of Watercolour to Advanced.

We have included Tim's Biography and sampling of his work. I am sure you will be impressed.

Tim Packer was born in 1961 in Toronto. He studied commercial art in high school and then Graphic Design at George Brown College. He continued to paint, through the eighties and nineties while pursuing a successful career as a Detective with the Toronto Police Service. By the mid nineties his painting had become the driving force in his life and in January of 2000 he left policing to pursue his art career full time.

Tim is an elected member and the President of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour and a former President of the Oshawa Art Association. He is a Senior Signature Member of the Canadian Institute of Portrait Artists and sits on the Institute's new members jury. His work has won numerous awards and has appeared in juried shows in Mexico, the United States and across Canada. Painting in watercolours and oils, he works in two very distinct styles. For commissioned portraits, he works quite realistically and is able to capture the very essence of the model. His landscape work however is quite interpretive, relying on the abstract use of positive and negative shapes to give a unique perspective of the world around us.

He is an active instructor; teaching a number of painting workshops throughout Southern Ontario for many organizations such as the Toronto Watercolour Society, Loyalist College and the Wellington County Museum and Archives to name a few.

Tim's work can be found in many private collections and in the Corporate Collections of C.I.B.C., Wood Gundy, Molsons Canada, King Reid and Associates and the Toronto Police Service.

Tim paints in his studio in Whitby where he lives with his wife and two boys. Readily available as models, they often appear in his work. He is represented by the Liss Galleries in Toronto, the Art & Soul Gallery in Pickering, Antony's Gallery in Whitby and Gallery on the Lake in Buckhorn, Ontario.

Come join us to travel the road to learning Watercolour Painting, Design, Perspective and more.
