Rise of the Naked Ape - Part 1 The M.A.D. Factor "Money addiction dementia..." by Winston De Javue |
It is with great regret that I announce the cancellation of my Academic workshop at Harvard in September. It seems not enough students were interested in my 4 part lecture on "The Rise of the Naked Ape" - Money Addiction Dementia". Perhaps they were too busy putting patents on lab rats. In any event, it has not deterred me from offering part one of this lecture in the science section of the Shock Media summer issue. That one third of the planet is burning up the future of our entire species is not a good starting point for any professor. To be face to face with an audience driven by simpleton greed, while the rest wallow in squalor, or in a hail of bullets, is not an ideal platform for solid discussions of any kind. The strange denial of the simple facts by an entire civilization, however, is an interesting phenomenon. #1. Expand, increase, enlarge, and 'biggie' size whatever, whenever and wherever possible, regardless of your basic level of need. #2. Be a willing participant in the "mass-consumption" philosophy prescribed by the government and the media, which requires you to have only one goal, namely to produce more money to increase your level of consumption and personal enjoyment.. #3. Whatever you're doing to get that money { in order to fulfill steps #1 and #2 } , the larger the organization you work for, the more you must be willing to leave you morals, values, and human dignity at the door. Anyone who feels they don't fit into any of these (M.A.D.) categories will likely be type #2, or closet #3 type. Consider this formula: economic growth is directly proportional to the destruction of the environment. Or this one: global economic growth = global environmental destruction Am I making sense to anyone? Are we not dealing with the phenomenon which I like to call 'The Rise of The Naked Ape? Of course, there is no way of telling whose right or wrong anymore as everything that counts and is sacred has been commercialized, and therefore 'assimilated' to the Mutually- Assured-Destruction process. A process that is driven by a disease called MAD, {" Money Addiction Dementia"}. In order for you to successfully complete part 1 (introductory) of this lecture series, you will be required to read the following material on which you will be tested next class. You have 2 months. 'Mein Kampf 'by Adolf Hitler I will be taking attendance next class, which may or may not have an effect on your final mark. Class dismissed. WdeJ. |
