Kevin's Digital Camera

On June 3, 1999, I bought myself a digital camera, an HP PhotoSmart C30. PC Magazine reviewed this model in their January 19, 1999 issue. Because I bought my camera a few months after that model was first released, they had upgraded the 4 Mb compact flash card which the box (and most reviews) said came with the camera, to an 8 Mb card. The 8 Mb card holds 17 photos at high quality and 40 at medium quality... but every so often I found that to be quite limiting. The overall evaluation of the camera was "a good first digital camera" which turned out to be true as I replaced that camera with a Kodak DC4800 in May 2001. The 16 MB card that came with the camera was way too small... some photos, especially if they include trees or waterfalls, can use 1.7 MB. I quickly replaced that card with a 128 MB card. That's almost big enough, I've only run out of space once so far.
