Born in 1924, young Mary McCarty made her film debut at the age of fourteen, in the 1938 version of "Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm". Her career in entertainment would last until her death on April 30, 1980, at the end of the first season of Trapper John, M.D.
She appeared on stage and large and small screen, doing both musicals and straight plays, and is listed as one of the entertainers at the third annual Tony Awards in 1949.
