Two people have taken the time to answer your question. They offer two different perspectives.

      Answer 1:

Unfortunately, I am in total agreement with your parents. You are much too young to be out and about so late at night, even on weeknights. You must have homework, school projects, tests, etc. I'm not saying you should not be allowed out after school. There are extracurricular activities - sports, special clubs, etc. You should be allowed to participate. But most end early though that you can be home by 9 - 9:30 p.m. weeknights. I do think 11-midnight is too late for a 14 year old, even on weekends, except for the occasional dance or special event.

Finally, a word of caution. When you are out, even with several of your friends, please be careful. And make sure you have a safe way of getting home.

      Answer 2:

There is no right or wrong here. It is up to you to prove to your parents that you are responsible and can be trusted. On weekends, be home by 9 p.m. and prove your maturity. As they see they can trust you, ask them to consider 2 or 3 weeknights till 8:00 p.m. and prove you can get your homework done and maintain good marks.
