- Read a synopsis of
the Shakespearean play you need to study, or get your teacher to explain
what the play is about before you attempt to read the drama, as it is the
old English people find difficult to get past. (Most people never fully
understand the language anyway.) Watch a video, or see a live production.
Also, read up on the play. Get your hands on good secondary sources that
will provide insight into the play, and help you see how Shakespeare has
shaped the literary world.
- Shakespeare is considered
brilliant by too many people to ignore. Once you understand the story (plot)
and all the intricate components of the play itself, you will be amazed
at just how much effort this playwright put into his works. You may not
like the plays, but you may have a new appreciation for the writer and
his dramas.
