The 17-player, 5 round regular Swiss tournament saw David (Yu) Peng, formerly from Bejing China go undefeated including a fourth round victory over co-champion Nikolay Noritsan. Last tournament's champion, Fred Henderson, lost to Nikolay Noritsan in their revenge rematch, but defeated Igor Guzar in the final round K&P ending (below) to finish up alone in 3rd place in the popular event. Juniors Hazel Smith and Shiyam Thavandiran were a half point back tied with 3 points with Craig Martin and Alan R. Hutchinson.
