Dusan Miletic, formerly from Yugoslavia, scored an undefeated 5.5 out of 6 to win the $150 Cash First Prize in the 30-player Saturday Active #3 at the Dutton Chess Club on Bayview on Saturday, October 23, 1999.  Nico Michaelis from Germany and Toronto junior Viktor Zambo both scored 4.5-1.5 results to win $100. each for "second" place tie in the 6-round Active tournament.

The Under 2000 Section saw Milan Zagar and Richard Ruiz take home $75 each with 4-2 results, while 3 players tied in the Under 1800 Section and split $75. up three ways.  They included:  Tariq Hassan-Gordon, Robert J. Armstrong and Ken Kurkowski.  The Under 1600 Section resulted in a tie between Ron Venning and Ted Termeer who won $35. each.  The Under 1400 Section finished in another 3-way tie with Greg Amann of Barrie tying with two Scarborough juniors Vineet Joag and Kevin Teh and all 3 taking home $25. each.  The next Saturday Active (The New Millennium Active (#4) in the Dutton Chess Club SATURDAY ACTIVE SERIES will take place on Saturday, January 8, 2000.  Players enjoy the 6-round one day Active events that start just after 12 noon and run for about 8 hours.  Plan now to attend the next Saturday Active and warm up for the January Winter Open on the following weekend (January 14, 15 & 16, 2000)
