The Play tells the story of Anna Mae Aquash, a Mik Maq woman from Nova Scotia
who became a central figure in the American Indian Movement in the 1970's.
She died under mysterious circumstances - the FBI cut the hands off her dead body
and buried her as "Jane Doe" it is still not clear, 25 years later, whether she
was killed by the FBI or by members of the American Indian Movement. Native Earth
Performing Arts honours her life and sheds new light on this woman hero as the Season's
Main Production.
