listening to: Silence. That needs to stop. Our Lady Peace. Much better.

(apologies to Lance Arthur.)

December 1st. It's a lovely, unseasonably warm day here in Toronto, even with the wind that whips like a jet engine down Bay Street. The snow hasn't even hit the ground yet, which makes today perfect for the scheduled event; The Decathlon of Moving. Let's check in with the athletes...they've been training for about three whole days, and are primed to move!

First, we have Nicole, the erstwhile author of /hiding/, and generally unprepared mover. She's rather new to the sport, having only moved with the help of her parents, then to another apartment in the same building. Hardly a difficult event, but it helped get her to this one.

Next, we have the Texan expatriate, Mike. He's a veteran at this sport, having moved several times in the past few years, and with little to no help, so he's set for this move.

Laine has often prided herself on the ability to be ready to leave at any point in time, so this should be an interesting event for her. She's an experienced mover as well, so will be a great contender in some events.

Ladies and Gentlemen...Pack your boxes!

As the event begins, the audience should be reminded that Mike and Nicole have spent the past two days on next to no sleep, having moved all electronics from the house two days before, then priming the Aroma Orange, Asylum Green, and Pepto-Bismol Pink out of the house. This doesn't count towards the event, however, due to the fact that a ringer was brought in for all of it. Gary, who seems to be an up-and-comer in this sport, aided them greatly, and was given the First Annual Gary Award by Mike for his efforts. His motivations might be suspect, but he still deserved it.

To be continued....
