Like her radiant sister, Northern Lights,
Northern Sounds is
a consort of the night. Every night as darkness shrouds the
city, Toronto artists take up the collective mantle of
Northern Sounds and infuse the night with music. This is
a tribute to those artists.
This website is a totally biased selection of budding Toronto
singer-songwriters who we like and think deserve the
international exposure a website can bring them.
They are in various stages of their careers, some promising new
artists just starting out and some who've already signed with
major labels and are on the cusp of stardom.
Currently Northern Sounds showcases
Emm Gryner and
Sarah Slean, but
we hope in the future to add other deserving artists
to our "roster".
We welcome you to enter the nocturnal realm of Northern Sounds and
discover some of the rich music Toronto has to offer.
Please feel free to look around here as
much as you like, but hits on this website do not pay for food and rent
for the artists featured here; please go out and buy CDs/tapes and attend
shows! Tell 'em Steve and Gian sent you!
