DANGER WILL ROBINSON, DANGER...

The canopy as shipped is coved by a thin plastic protective layer. This makes an effective barrier during handling/painting. This stuff appears to be held to the plexiglass by a strong electrostatic charge or some very clean adhesive. Either way It comes off quite easily but only if the plastic remains pliable enough to be bent backwards during removal. If you are spraying filler (Featherfill, Standox etc...) it may go on the plastic so heavily so as to prevent you removing the cover. All that happens now is the plastic breaks under the filler and can not be slid off the canopy due to its adhesion. The only way out now is the unthinkable (I can't even tell you... because its unthinkable).
