Carey Chen -- Born in Jamaica, came to Canada in '76.
I've lived since then in Toronto. I try to keep the number of bikes I own down below
double digits. I am a professional bike mechanic who still hasn't gotten a
"real" job yet. I got into recumbents when I built my first bike out of riveted
aluminum in 1991. Since then, I have built more than 20 recumbents. I am currently
interested in designing SWB low racer bikes with suspension. Other interests include
aircraft, anime, computer strategy games, bicycle history, science fiction, trains, design
concepts, and Munchkin my Chihuahua. My idol is Burt Rutan, aircraft designer. Starting in
1999 I will be working at the Urbane Cyclist in
downtown Toronto (416-979-9733). I ride an Outlander, which is the name I put on the bikes
that I've built.
