If you look at CR-1 you'll see the frame is similar to the Cyclo, that's what I copied. From the start I always liked SWB bents. The Avatar frame was not easily copied since it would clearly require brazing which at the time I was not able to do. CR-1 was constructed from aluminium 'C' sections instead of the round tubes of the Cyclo's square frame. The frame was very flexible, you could easily twist the crank with your hands! My engineer friend suggested using brake cables to help reinforcing the frame, this was only partially successful. The 'idler' was a rear axle spacer just turning on a bolt. But despite all the problems it really whetted my appetite. CR-1 was built with pop rivets, the BB shell and head tube were rivetted and bolted to the frame and came from a junked frame.
