	Selecting the collar
	We gonna detach the collar first, that's the hardest part cuz it kinda hard to select it with the shirt underneath ... but it can be done. First remove Meshsmooth modifier ... we can select the collar without all the extra polys to sort thru, and then apply Meshsmooth later when we ready to cut. We select it by hiding it ... strange to say. Select polys that are part of the collar and hit the HIDE button ... you can do that as many times as you like until the collar is gone. Below shows mid way thru process ... I've hid some already and I'm working underneath, on the bottom views, cuz if you look up thru the shirt from the bottom you see the collar underneath. Gotta be real careful not to select other polys of the shirt, work with ignore backface setting. Arrows show collar polys remaining to HIDE.

	When you think you got all the collar Hidden, select the rest of the shirt visible and hit Unhide:

	Then ... Hide again, but this time the rest of the shirt is selected, so now only collar appears:

	Now add Meshsmooth modifier ... yep, you can add it with only part of shirt selected and it'll be applied to the whole shirt, and as a bonus it'll show the whole shirt with collar selected:
